STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- As the seasons change from fall to winter, the sports landscape around the state changes.
Monday in Stillwater, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University held its Winter Sports Media Day to introduce the Cowboys Men’s and Women’s Basketball programs, and the Cowboys powerhouse wrestling team.
The Oklahoma State men’s basketball team is coming off a second round exit from the NCAA Tournament a year ago and will try to build off of their performance a season ago, with three starters returning.
Cowgirl Basketball lost in the second round of the Women’s NIT tournament a year ago, but bring back star guard Andrea Riley who led the Cowgirls in scoring a season ago.
Oklahoma State wrestling is an historic program, with 34 NCAA team championships, but ended up No. 16 in the NCAA tournament a year ago. The Cowboys bring back two-time All-American Jared Rosholt, who placed third in the NCAA tournament a year ago, and is a favorite to compete for the national title in the 285-pound weight class.
