TULSA, Oklahoma -- The Tulsa Shock fell to the Atlanta Dream 105-89 Tuesday, despite Ivory Latta scoring 23 points -- more than any other Shock player has been able to score all season.
The Dream’s Sancho Lyttle had 20 point and 14 rebounds, while teammate Iziane Castro Marques scored 23 points to lead their team to the 16-point win. Atlanta (16-9) scored at will, and the WNBA's best rebounding team out rebounded Tulsa 44-30. Alison Bales had 12 for Atlanta.
The Dream shot 51.9 percent and made 19 of 25 free throws.
The Shock (4-20), made it 18-14 late in the first quarter, but were outscored 26-4 over the next eight minutes. Tulsa is now 1-17 in its last 18 games and is trying to avoid breaking the WNBA mark for the worst regular season record. The team needs one more win to avoid the mark set by the 2009 Atlanta Dream squad.
The Shock hosts the San Antonio Silver Stars Friday July 30 at 12:30 p.m.
